Changing prices on many items
What it does
Change Price is a bulk action on the Items list. It moves one price on every ticked item by the same rule. Price picks which price moves, with a button each for Price, Compare at Price and Cost Price. Change picks how it moves.
| Change | What it does |
|---|---|
| Raise by % | Adds a percentage of the current price |
| Lower by % | Takes a percentage off the current price |
| Raise by Amount | Adds an amount to the current price |
| Lower by Amount | Takes an amount off the current price |
| Set to | Sets the price to the amount you enter |
Value is the percentage or the amount. Round to rounds each new price to the Nearest Cent, Nearest 5 Cents, Nearest 10 Cents or Nearest Dollar. A half rounds up. With Apply to Variants ticked, each variant’s price moves by the same rule. The window opens on Price, Raise by % and Nearest Cent, with Apply to Variants ticked.
Before you confirm, the window lists each item with its price now and its new price. It also counts the variants that change with it.
Before you start
Any member can change prices, as they can on one item.
An amount is in your organisation’s currency. A percentage can have up to four decimal places. A price can come down by at most 100%. A larger lowering skips every item with “A price can come down by at most 100%.”
Lucrii skips an item when its new price, or a variant’s new price, would be below zero. It skips an item whose price would not change with “This item’s price would not change.”
Raising or lowering a price held in another currency skips that item. The reason is the one the item’s page gives, such as “Prices must be in AUD, the organisation’s currency. Change the organisation currency first if you need to price in USD.” Set to writes the amount in your organisation’s currency.
In a currency with no cents, the three cent roundings round to the whole unit.
The window lists the first 200 items and counts the rest.
You can have three jobs in progress at once, counting bulk actions and exports together. Quotes, sales orders and purchase orders says how the limit works.
How to use it
- On the Items list, tick the items to change.
- Select Change Price in the bar.
- Select one of the three Price buttons, choose how to Change it, then enter the Value.
- Choose Round to, and tick or clear Apply to Variants.
- Check the old and new prices, which show once you enter the Value.
- Select the button that counts the items to apply them, such as Raise Prices on 12 Items.
Troubleshooting
A new price is a cent away from what you worked out. Check Round to. Lucrii rounds each new price once, to the step you chose.
An item reads “The new price would be below zero.” The change takes more off than the price holds. Lower it by less, or set the price instead.
A price change reports “This price change may have been applied before the job stopped. Check the item’s prices before changing them again.” The job stopped partway through that item. Lucrii never changes it a second time by itself. Check the item’s prices before you run the change again.
