Demo organisations

What it does

Demo Organisations lists the demo companies you have created. Each row gives the name, the features that demo shows off, a description and the date it was created. Every one arrives seeded with sample data, so there is something to read before you have entered anything of your own.

Create demo opens a window of templates to pick from. Each row in the table opens that demo, which switches you into it and lands you on the inbox. The actions at the end of the row reset a demo to its seeded state or delete it.

The organisation switcher in the sidebar reaches the same places, under Switch to demo, with Manage demos and Create demo beneath the list.

Before you start

Creating, resetting or deleting a demo needs administrator or above on your real root organisation. This is your stored role, not the one you appear to have inside a demo, where every member of the parent counts as an administrator. Without it, you can still open a demo and explore it.

Resetting a demo restores its seeded state - everything you changed inside it is lost. Deleting a demo removes it and its data permanently. Deleting the one you are in switches you back to its parent first.

Billing, the App Store and MCP are all missing from the settings menu inside a demo, and you cannot manage members there either. The quests for exploring the App Store and connecting an AI assistant are out of the offers inside a demo, and the Quest Chart shows them as question marks.

How to use it

  1. Open the organisation switcher in the sidebar and choose Manage demos.
  2. Select Create demo.
  3. Pick a template and create it.
  4. Select the demo’s row to open it.
  5. To start again, select Reset demo on the row and confirm.

The note about who can create a demo only shows on the page when the list is empty, since that is its no-results message.

  • Creating another organisation: An owner creates a second organisation through a short Hermes wizard, and it is billed through its parent.
  • Members and invitations: The members page lists everyone in the organisation, with the invitations, role changes and access revocations beside them.
