What Hermes remembers

Last Updated: September 30, 2026

Who can do this: anyone in the organisation, on the Early Access plan.

What it does

A fact given to Hermes is kept after the conversation it was given in has ended. It is filed under a short key with the sentence you gave, plus one of four categories: customer, item, process or general. Asking Hermes to forget something removes it by that key.

A nickname is filed in a list of its own. Tell Hermes that a short name belongs to a person, and later mentions of that name are read as that person.

What Hermes remembers belongs to you inside one organisation. A colleague asking the same question does not get your facts, and the same question asked in another workspace does not get them either.

Before you start

Memory stops at 100 facts. Past that, Hermes asks you to forget something before it stores anything else.

Keys are matched exactly, so a fact filed under a key already in use replaces what was there.

Hermes also builds its own picture of your business out of your records, separate from anything you ask it to keep. Forgetting a fact removes the fact alone.

How to use it

  1. Tell Hermes what to keep, with the fact in full. A customer’s standing discount, or the location you receive stock into, is the kind of thing to keep.
  2. Hermes replies with the key it filed the fact under.
  3. To remove one, ask Hermes to forget that key.
  4. For a nickname, tell Hermes who the short name refers to and give the full name once.

Troubleshooting

If you ask Hermes to forget a key that has nothing filed under it, it just tells you there was nothing to remove.

  • Asking Hermes: Hermes replies to a question about your business from a command palette that opens on every page of the app.
  • What Hermes can do and change: Hermes reads your records to answer, and creates or changes orders, contacts, items, stock, notes, tasks and boards when you ask it to.
  • Hermes credits and spending limits: Hermes work is metered in credits against a monthly allowance, and a spending limit caps what your organisation spends beyond it.
