The Hermes inbox summary

Who can do this: anyone in the organisation, on the Early Access plan.

What it does

Above the inbox, Hermes writes you a few lines on where the business stands. The briefing leads with what is urgent, including overdue orders, quotes about to expire, late purchase orders and mentions that have been waiting, and puts the numbers that matter in bold. The greeting follows the time of day on your organisation’s clock, from Good morning through to Working late.

The briefing is written once per part of the day and kept until the next part opens, so reading the inbox a second time before lunch does not cost you another one. It appears as Hermes types it.

Before you start

The briefing needs Hermes turned on for your organisation. On Lucrii’s own cloud it also needs Hermes included in your plan, which the free plan leaves out. A self-hosted organisation has no plan requirement and needs only the organisation setting.

Writing a briefing costs Hermes credits, so Lucrii writes one per part of the day and reuses it instead of writing a fresh one on every visit.

A fresh briefing brings the bubble back even where you dismissed the last one, since it has something to tell you that the dismissed one did not.

How to use it

  1. Read the briefing where it appears above the list.
  2. Select Refresh summary on the bubble to have Hermes write you a fresh one.
  3. Select Dismiss summary to put the briefing away.
  4. Select Show Hermes summary, which takes the bubble’s place, to bring it back.

The choice to dismiss is remembered per organisation, on the browser where you made it.

Troubleshooting

If the connection is lost while Hermes is writing the briefing, it stands as far as it got, with a line saying so.

If Hermes cannot write a briefing at all, it says so and the bubble clears itself after a few seconds.

  • The inbox: One list of the orders and tasks you are working on, with a dot against anything that has changed since you last looked.
  • Views and the team inbox: My Inbox and My Teams Inbox are the two tabs over the list, and the chips above it narrow the list to unread.
  • Quotes, sales orders and purchase orders: Quotes, sales orders and purchase orders each have a tabbed list with its own figures and status views.
