Notes on a contact

Last Updated: September 30, 2026

What it does

Notes Timeline runs across the foot of a contact, and again on each of its locations. A draft box at the top takes rich text, with mentions of your colleagues and files dragged in beside it. Notes below it are grouped by date, newest first, each against its author’s avatar.

System entries record what happened to the record, and replies from Hermes appear in their own style. A note someone deleted leaves a marker where it was.

Older notes load as you scroll. When a page of them fails to arrive the timeline says so and offers Retry rather than ending quietly.

Before you start

Contact notes are internal. There is no public and private switch like an order note has, so nothing you write here reaches the customer.

How to use it

  1. Open a contact, or one of its locations, and scroll to Notes Timeline.
  2. Write in the box at the top. Use the toolbar for formatting and the at sign to mention a colleague.
  3. Drag in a file to attach it, or remove one before you post with the cross on its chip.
  4. Post the note. It appears at the top of today’s group.

Attachments on a note are separate from the Media card on the contact, which holds files that belong to the record itself.

Hermes reads and writes these notes, and an MCP client adds, edits and deletes them through its own tools.

Troubleshooting

A note can show with no author name. This happens when Lucrii cannot work out who wrote it, and the note still keeps its place in the timeline.

  • The contact page, editing and deleting: A contact’s page gathers its details, addresses, media and related records, with Edit and Trash in the header.
  • Contact locations: An organisation contact lists the sites it trades from, each with its own address, status and linked people.
  • Tags on a contact: Tags are free-text chips on a contact, suggested from the ones your organisation already uses.
