Signing up and logging in

What it does

Create your account takes an email address and a password of at least eight characters, then asks for Your Name, Business Name and how you heard about Lucrii. The business name becomes your first organisation. Sign up with Google is the other way in. It asks for none of that. The organisation it opens is named after your first name, or My Organisation where Google withholds the name.

Log in asks for the email address first. Continue reads the address’s domain: a domain its organisation holds to single sign-on sends you to Google, and every other address opens the password field. Under the form are Google and Passkey, and Passkey appears where the browser supports one.

An account with two-factor turned on meets a Two-Factor Authentication panel after the password. It takes a six-digit code from an authenticator app or a passkey, and where both are set up there are buttons to switch between them. Use a backup code is offered under either panel. One of those codes clears the challenge whichever factor raised it.

An invitation link opens a page saying who invited you, which organisation, and the role you are being given. Someone with an account accepts it outright. Someone without one fills in Name, Password and What is your role, and the account is created and joined in one step.

Before you start

A password needs eight characters or more. Passkey login is offered only in a browser that supports it.

An invitation belongs to the address it was sent to. Logged in as another address, the page says so and offers a log out instead of the accept action.

The destination you were headed for is kept through a detour to Google or to the signup page, and through the log in you are sent to when your session has ended. A link from an email, or a code entered by hand, still opens where it was meant to.

Signing up with a password leaves the account unverified and sends a verification email. The app holds you at the verification page until the address is confirmed. Signing up with Google arrives verified, since Google has already confirmed the address.

How to use it

  1. Open the signup page and enter your email address and a password, or select Google.
  2. Enter your name and your business name, and select Create Account.
  3. To log in later, enter your email address and select Continue, then your password and Log in.
  4. Where a second factor is asked for, enter the six-digit code, or select Use Passkey.

To accept an invitation, open the link in the email. Logged in on the address it was sent to, the button reads Accept Invitation. Without an account, it reads Create Account & Join under the three fields. Logged in as somebody else, the page offers a log out instead, and logged out with an account already, a way to log in and come back.

Troubleshooting

If an invitation link shows Invalid Invitation, it has expired or already been used. Use the links on that page to log in or sign up instead.

  • Verifying your email address: A new account is held at a verification screen until the emailed link is opened, and the email is resent from there.
  • Resetting your password: A reset link is emailed on request, and setting a new password from it signs you out everywhere else you were signed in.
  • Setting up your organisation: A Hermes-led wizard collects the organisation’s name, locale, business type, tax, first team and your role before the app opens.
  • Achievements, levels and the leaderboard: Work in Lucrii pays experience towards levels and achievements, and the leaderboard ranks the organisation by season.
