What Hermes can do and change

Who can do this: anyone in the organisation, on the Early Access plan.

What it does

Hermes answers out of your own records, and it changes them when you ask. Each thing it does is a named tool, and the Tools row under an answer lists the ones that ran, with a tick or a cross against each. Opening the row shows what went in, and the error where one came back.

These are the tools it has.

Reading. search_records matches keywords such as a name, a reference or a SKU, and semantic_search takes a description of what you are after instead. get_record_details opens one order, contact, item or task, get_notes reads the notes on a record, task_list filters tasks, and kanban_board_list and kanban_board_get read your boards.

Working out loud. navigate_to_record takes you to a record when you ask to see it. open_page opens a page of the app, such as your Quest Chart, when you ask to go there. todo_write posts the plan Hermes is working through when a job runs to three steps or more.

Help and quests. product_help looks up how a feature works and answers from the product pages, saying so where nothing covers the question rather than guessing. start_quest opens the walkthrough for a quest id product_help reported, and runs only when you ask to be shown.

Remembering. remember, forget and remember_nickname hold what you tell Hermes between conversations.

Orders and contacts. create_order opens a quote, a sales order or a purchase order. update_order changes an order’s fields, its line items and its discount. The same tool adds and removes tags and watchers, and records the decision on a quote, won or lost. create_contact and update_contact cover customers and vendors.

Inventory. create_item and update_item cover the catalogue, and adjust_stock moves stock up or down for an item or a variant at one location. start_inventory_import and start_inventory_export open the import wizard and the export, and get_import_status, summarise_import_errors and list_recent_imports report on what a run did.

Notes. add_note writes to an order, contact, item or location, and task_add_note to a task.

Tasks. task_create, task_update, task_status, task_complete, task_assign and task_delete cover the task itself. task_add_tag, task_remove_tag, task_add_watcher and task_remove_watcher cover who is following it and how it is labelled. task_link_parent and task_unlink_parent point a task at the record it belongs to, and task_remove_from_board takes it off a board without deleting it.

Boards. kanban_board_create, kanban_board_update and kanban_board_delete cover the board. kanban_column_create, kanban_columns_create, kanban_column_update, kanban_column_delete, kanban_column_clear and kanban_column_sort cover its columns, and kanban_move_task puts a task in one.

Before you start

Hermes will not send a quote or set an order status on its own. It records the decision on a quote, won or lost, and leaves every other status change to the order page.

Deleting is one of the things Hermes does. A deleted task goes along with its notes, and deleting a board takes its columns with it, though the tasks that were on it stay in the task list. Ask for either only when you mean it.

An agent connected over MCP reaches the same AI through lucrii_ask, lucrii_summarize and lucrii_semantic_search, and spends the same credits your own questions do.

How to use it

  1. Ask for what you want in plain words. Hermes picks the tools itself.
  2. Read the Tools row under the answer to see what it touched.
  3. Select the row to open it, and select a tool inside it for the detail of that call.
  4. Open the record itself to confirm anything you want to see for yourself. The page behind the panel reloads after a turn that changed records.

Troubleshooting

If Hermes refuses to create something because of a plan limit, it says so in a sentence in the conversation instead of an error. It will not say which limit you hit, so check the billing page for that.

  • Asking Hermes: Hermes replies to a question about your business from a command palette that opens on every page of the app.
  • What Hermes remembers: Hermes keeps the facts and nicknames you give it and reads them back in later conversations.
  • Hermes credits and spending limits: Hermes work is metered in credits against a monthly allowance, and a spending limit caps what your organisation spends beyond it.
  • Creating an order: The create button opens a form for the order type you are viewing and saves it as a new record.
