Setting up your organisation

Who can do this: administrators and owners.

What it does

The first visit to a fresh organisation opens a conversation with Hermes rather than a form. Hermes asks for the business name, how many people work there, the industry, a description of what you do, the country, the currency and the timezone.

Next comes the type of business, one of Goods Only, Goods and Services or Services Only. Your answer sets the wording across the app. A services-only organisation calls its sales orders invoices, on the tab and on the create button alike. The figures above each order list follow from it too, and so do the units the organisation starts with. Units of time suit a services business, boxes and kilograms one selling goods. It does not decide what you can stock. A services-only organisation holds stock-tracked items and locations like any other.

Hermes then puts up a switch for tax on your sales. Turning it on brings two more questions, the name of the tax and its percentage, and the tax is created for you as your default tax.

The last two questions are the name of your first team and your own role. Begin your journey writes the lot and opens the app.

Before you start

Setting up an organisation is an administrator’s job. A member who arrives before the wizard is finished is told an administrator has to finish it first, and can log out from there.

The name, the description, the locale answers, the business type and the tax are all editable afterwards in organisation settings. How many people work there, the industry and your own role are set once and left alone.

Hermes and achievements are switched on for the organisation as the wizard completes. You can turn both off again in the organisation’s general settings.

How to use it

  1. Answer each question as Hermes asks it. The country, currency and timezone start from your browser’s own settings.
  2. Leave the switch labelled I collect tax off where you do not collect tax, and the two tax questions are skipped.
  3. Name your first team. Sales Team is filled in to start with.
  4. Select Begin your journey.

If setup cannot finish, the reason shows under Begin your journey.

  • Signing up and logging in: An account is opened with an email address, with Google, or from an invitation, and logging in supports a password, Google, a passkey and a second factor.
  • Verifying your email address: A new account is held at a verification screen until the emailed link is opened, and the email is resent from there.
  • Achievements, levels and the leaderboard: Work in Lucrii pays experience towards levels and achievements, and the leaderboard ranks the organisation by season.
