Boards

Last Updated: September 30, 2026

Work boards are where the jobs that are not orders get tracked. A board is a set of columns, a card in a column is a task, and dragging a card across moves the task to the status that column stands for. Each task takes an assignee, a due date, a priority and watchers, and it points at the order, contact, item or location it is about, which keeps the work beside the record it belongs to. Tasks also have a list of their own, with saved views for what is open, what is late and what is finished.

In this section

  • Work boards and tasks: Work Boards lists your boards and Tasks lists every task, each with saved views and a create button.
  • Creating a work board: A work board takes a title, a description and the team it belongs to, and that team decides who may rearrange it afterwards.
  • Columns and cards: A board is columns of cards, added, renamed, mapped to a status, sorted, cleared, collapsed and reordered, with tasks dragged between them.
  • Editing and deleting a work board: Board settings reopens the create form on an existing board, and More Actions deletes it or opens its audit history.
  • Creating and editing a task: A task takes a title, description, due date, priority, board placement, reference and parent record, and the same form edits it later.
  • Assignees, watchers and status: A task page sets who the work belongs to, who follows it, and drives it from assigned through in progress, on hold and completed.
  • Parent records and task numbers: A task links to the order, contact, item, location or task it is about, and its T-number copies when you select it.
  • Tags and notes on a task: Tags label a task for searching and the notes timeline records what was said and done on it, with files attached.
