--- title: Creating another organisation description: "An owner creates a second organisation through a short Hermes wizard, and it is billed through its parent." lastUpdated: 2026-09-30 order: 110 --- Who can do this: owners. ## What it does New organisation opens the same wizard that set up your first one, asked by Hermes a question at a time. It takes the business name, how many people work there, the industry, a description, and the country, currency and timezone. It also covers whether the business sells goods, services or both, and whether you collect tax. Saying you collect tax adds two more questions for the tax name and its percentage. The last question names your first team. The country, currency and timezone are guessed from your browser and offered as the starting answers, and the team is suggested as Sales Team. Create Organisation submits the lot. ## Before you start Owner on your root organisation, which is the role the switcher reads before offering the item and the role the request is answered on. The threshold is higher here than for the rest of organisation management, because the person who creates the organisation becomes its owner. A child's billing then resolves to the parent's subscription, which an administrator's own role does not reach. The new organisation is a child of your root organisation, even when you start from another child or a demo. Its billing page says so and sends you to the parent rather than showing cards of its own. Every answer is a setting you can change afterwards on General, and the tax you name becomes an ordinary row on the taxes list. ## How to use it 1. Open the organisation switcher in the sidebar. 2. Select New organisation. 3. Answer each question as Hermes asks it. 4. Select Create Organisation on the last step.
