The screen then reads Check your email and says the link expires in one hour. The link opens Set New Password, with a field for the password and a field to confirm it. Saving takes you back to the login page, which confirms that the password was reset. ## Before you start The confirmation screen looks the same whether or not the address has an account. This keeps who is registered here private. A reset link is good for one hour and works once. A second attempt with the same link does not work; request another one instead. A new password needs eight characters or more, and the two fields must match before you can save it. Setting the password signs you out everywhere else you were signed in, on every device. An email goes out to say the password changed, unless you have turned that notification off in your own notification preferences. It starts on. ## How to use it 1. Select Forgot your password on the login page, or open the reset page directly. 2. Enter your email address and select Send reset link. 3. Open the email and select the link inside it. 4. Enter the new password twice and select Reset Password. 5. Log in with the new password. ## Troubleshooting If Send reset link says to wait, you have asked too many times. You get three requests for one address before you need to wait, then one more every twenty minutes.
